What a pest report can and cannot tell you
The limits of a timber pest inspection under AS 4349.3, in plain terms.
In short: A timber pest report covers what can be seen and reached on the day. Knowing its limits helps you read it properly.
Visual and non-invasive
Nothing is removed or drilled. Concealed timber cannot be seen.
Obstructions
Stored goods, furniture and floor coverings limit what can be inspected, and the report lists them.
Inspect, not treat
We report findings. Any treatment is a job for a licensed pest manager.
Regular inspections
Annual timber pest inspections are commonly recommended, especially for older homes.
